Wrap up!

We are wrapping up our YMT Alaska cruise and what a time it was. Got to see things I never thought Iwould see and meet some nice people from all over this great country of ours. The WMTR listeners are all having a blast and cannot wait for the next station trip.

Glacier Bay

Wow! That is about all there is to say. To see the beauty and wildlife in Glacier Bay National Park is too outstanding to describe. Sort of like trying to describe the Grand Canyon. On board we got to hear about native American life and history in the region as well as a great seminar on the brown bears in the region – several of which we saw.

The staff on the Holland America ship is a delight. A big thanks to YMT vacations for this super vacation.

Yesterday Juneau,the Mendenhall glacier, and a salmon hatchery besides sailing up the never to be forgotten Inside Passage.

Today finds us in Skagway, the gateway to thegold rush. With so many tours to choose from everybody took the one they liked best. I took the Railroad tour up to White Pass just over the border in British Columbia. When I get back I have some great pictures to share on our WMTR web site.

Ahoy! (I just had to get that one in.)

We just past through another time zone so it is 5:55 in the morning here, 10:55 in New Jersey. I am still on east coast time.

I had dinner with the WMTR listeners last night – salmon of course. They all raved about the wonderful YMT vacation they have had so far. They had a motor coach tour of the great Northwest before boarding in Vancouver.

We will be in Juneau at 2 this afternoon and we are all taking different tours – there are so many to select from.

I hope T-Bone isn’t talking about me behind my back – he can be a “dirty dog” at times. Keep an eye on him.

Keep an eye on this tomorrow. I’llbe checking in again.

Alaska cruise hase begun!

Hey, after a day of air travel and customs line waiting we are now on board our luxury Holland America Line ship. We left Vancouver yesterday and what a beautful city it is – sort of like the Boston of the west coast.

Glad I don’t have to drive anywhere. Gas is about $4.60 an American gallon in Canada. No wonder all the cabs are Hybrids!

We passed a restaurant in Vancover called “East is East”. I always like an establishment that states the obvious.

Still dark here this morning. Have to et my camera to get a picture of the sunrise.

Hey, things are hectic around the Edwards house this week as I am getting ready for next week’s YMT listener’s cruise to Alaska. I can’t wait to get going.
